MOVIE REVIEW: Madagascar 3, STARRING: Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted does sorta look like it could be the final chapter of the film series. My honest review:  POLKA DOT! POLKA DOT! POLKA DOT! AFRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m kidding. Madagascar 3 was pretty good. Had pretty good animations, although some pats were a bit over the top. I mean like Marty flying. But it’s a cartoon so that’s to be expected. It had some pretty good jokes, like after the penguins had a pillow fight and the feathers flew out of the pillow, Skipper says “These pillows were filled with baby birds.” Another joke: King Julien XIII: [in a train] Hey, this is not First Class… And a pretty good plot, where the animals go to the circus in order to get back to New York. But is pretty good, good enough?

Well it’s definitely better than Madagascar 2, let me tell you that much. I still think though that the best one in the franchise is the original Madagascar! I would also suggest getting yourself familiar with the first two before watching the third one. Overall it’s worth the movie going experience.

MOVIE REVIEW: The Avengers (2012) Starring: Robert Downey, Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson

Ever since 2008, people have been anticipating The Avengers. Now finally it has arrived. But is it what fans had hoped for?

I’ll admit it right now, I know nothing about superheroes. I never got into them, never read their comics, nothing. Then I was invited to go see The Avengers. And now I wish I would’ve got into them a lot sooner.

This is a very well put together film. It makes references to the other Marvel films as well as being it’s own original thing. It also seems to give each Avenger equal screen time unlike some films, which tend to give one character tons of screen time, and make the others feel like a cameo.

In the film, Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson), director of the espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D must reactivate the Avengers Initiative to stop the Norse god, Loki and his powerful cube The Tesseract, similar to The Cosmic Cube in the comics (Yes I’m researching stuff!) Agent Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) is sent to recruit Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), then Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) approaches Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) Fury then approaches Steve Rogers (Chris Evans).  You’ll have to watch the movie to know the rest……

In conclusion, fans will definitively be impressed with this new film. If you are however not familiar with The Avengers, then I highly suggest you learn about them before viewing this film.
